  • Echidna

    $3.50

  • Numbat

    $3.50
Numbats are now considered endangered and are only found in small pockets in Western Australia now.  They live on only one type of food and that's termites. Termites, termites, termites -they can eat up to 20,000 a day! To be able to find 20,000 termites a day, numbats need to be active when the termites are active.  Their predators are mainly foxes and cats and due to habitat loss and fragmentation from land clearing they are vulnerable to birds of prey such as the Wedge-tailed Eagles and Falcons.
  • Always such a delight to see a turtle swimming in the sea.  They have adapted to life in the water and except for the time they lay eggs, turtles spend their entire life in tropical and subtropical waters where they hunt for cephalopods, crabs and jellyfish. The turtle is one of the longest lived of all animals. They can live well past 100 years!
  • The camel can survive for days without food and weeks without water. They make water within their bodies due to their unique chemistry.
  • Sadly, it is estimated that there are less than 350 tigers left in the wild.
  • Hermit crabs are soft bellied so use an abandoned shell for their home and protection.  As they grow they need to look for a new shell. Is someone looking at moving out of home or feeling unprotected?
